Honestly, at this moment, I am still ecstatic as well as jealous of those who were able to watch BIG BANG’s Big Show Concert last Jan. 29-31, 2010. Call me a fangirl and laugh or whatever but I’ve never really felt this way about any music group before.

These past few months after getting into kpop, I’ve experienced new feelings. I got excited whenever a new song or MV got out. I would get amused by their interviews and performances. Laugh at their dorkiness and felt a connection with people I have never met in my life. It may sound weird but I have to say, I’m inspired by what they do.

One thing I love about them is their style in both music and clothes.

Besides BIG BANG, 2NE1 has also inspired me. Especially with my art. It really is amazing. I used to think admiring bands or swooning over music groups was a waste of time and effort. I used to think that there wasn’t a point to being half crazed when a single person just waved to a crowd. Now, I know I wouldn’t be able to stop squealing if I got their new CD (which did happen) or smile when I hear their songs playing on the radio. I swear if I were able to go to their concert, I think I’d beg money off everyone just to get good seats! And of course, if that did happen, I think I’d be jumping and squealing and jumping and talking nonsense at the same time.

Now, what does fangirling have to do with my dreams?

Well, I entered college without a certain goal. I only had a vague grasp on what I wanted in life. I just knew it had to be related to art. When I was introduced to BIG BANG and 2NE1, the first thing I noticed was their style. Then when I started to try to get more updated with these two groups, I came across photos and commercials, dramas and variety shows — All related to them. But what really attracted me the most was when I saw them as models. People who I would love to take pictures of and make concepts for. Okay, okay… sure if I really look at it though, what’s inspiring me are the people behind the shoots. The art directors and the photographer as well as the assistants. My point is… now I have a dream of some sort and that’s to have a photoshoot or create designs for BIG BANG and/or 2NE1. (Even to be an official concert photographer for them would be a dream job for me!)

I have to admit. It’s not too big, not too small a dream. I don’t want to limit myself to working just one stable job. This goal is just enough to help me focus on what I want to do. As of the moment, I’m focusing on sharpening my skills in different media like photography and graphic designing. I have to admit I feel insecure about my ideas BUT I love the challenge. The more I learn the more I know I’m growing as an artist.

One day, I hope to make my dream come true.
