It has now been 6 days since I finally got to enjoy my summer break! And oh, how I’ll miss summer next year…
Anyway, so I’m finally free from school for a month-ish. To some it seems like such a short time but honestly, I’m so happy with the time we got for summer. My school has a trimestral system and that means few breaks and shorter summers. You tend to become grateful for each extended weekend you get.
So far, I haven’t been able to do any summer related activities yet since I’m helping out with a campaign for my local candidate. I don’t have a presidential choice as of the moment but I just hope nothing serious comes out from the result of the 2010 Elections. My 6 days has been spent on folding fliers, handing them out and attending rallies. I have to say it’s quite an experience to finally be a real part of the “action”. You see I’m not that unfamiliar with elections and politics since my family is pretty active in that area but this year is special to me. It’s the first year that I’ve ever really understood the process as well as this will be my first chance to actually be able to vote. Sadly, I’ve missed so many days already since my school ended pretty late but I’ve been trying my best to help with the campaign since I’ve arrived.
Besides campaigning, this summer I hope to finish layouting for LET’S PLAY 2NE1′s photo/message book and work on the Gundam that I bought during OzineFest 2010 a few months ago. Honestly, I admit layouting for an entire book isn’t easy plus I’m also in charge of whatever graphics the blog needs but I know this will train me somehow. First thing’s first. I can’t do my other personal projects without finishing this one. My drawing skills have been pretty dull lately due to the little time I have so I hope I’d be able to create something soon.
One thing, I’m really craving right now is an DSLR. Did you know I actually dreamt about gathering props for a still life photo shoot (something I really wanted to do this summer) then I realized I didn’t have a camera. I woke up to that frustrating thought. Oh well, I swear I’ll have my own cam by the end of this year! But we’ll see if my skills improve when I get it.
