I’ve been visiting Cupcakes by Sonja for nearly two years now. I enjoy their quaint little shop in Serendra. Though their cupcakes are pricey, my friends and I enjoying having a little something from there from time to time.

My absolute fave flavor from them is Crème brûlée. It’s one of the simpler looking ones but I can finish it without leaving a bit left.

Another thing I like about their shop is that occasionally they decorate their store and some cupcakes to match whatever occasion is celebrated. For us here, the month of March is the month of graduations.

They’re little decors look as yummy as what they actually sell.

The last pic isn’t part of the theme but I like it.
By the way, I took these with a Nikon D60 and adjusted curves and levels only as practice for my future project.

I’d like to wish all the graduated of Batch 2010 more power and may God bless them and their futures. :]

N00b in the kitchen

Cooking, Family Outing

For the past month or so, I’ve been keenly interested in cooking. Not that I never had interest before but now because of Family Outing I recently got more curious and interested to see if I could cook at all.

 

My attempts to revive the interest I have with cooking started with pancakes. Ready, easy to make pancakes. I think it had be two years since I made a pancake and I tell you… it wasn’t pretty at first. I lost the pictures of my attempts so I won’t be able to share the horror with you. Haha.

Anyways! After that, I practice cooking scrambled eggs and also,

I randomly made some tuna + Japanese mayo rice ball one midnight…

One thing I was dying to try after watching an episode of Family Outing was homemade ice cream! Okay, it sounds childish but hey! I like ice cream. So I asked my cousin, whose hobby is cooking and crafts, and she shared this link.

After a whole lot of shaking, I got this!
It turned out good but really sweet. My mom suggested I add a bit of water to dilute the milk a bit. I’ll try this again when I have time!

I also tried frying some bacon and made a mix of tuna, mayo, all-in-all salt and cheese in a scrambled eggs. ( The egg was good btw)

 

Last but not least, I’m planning to try my hand at some Potato Pancakes! Inspired by Lee Hyori’s Potato Pancakes that she made when T.O.P was a guest in the show. I don’t know what recipe she used but I’m currently researching different ones and hopefully, I can succeed to make yummy ones!

Pray I don’t give myself or anyone else a stomach ache!
