I was part of the CSCENTRL.com‘s third Haruhi Suzumiya photoshoot!
This time around I was able to borrow the school’s camera (Canon 450D) and a few lenses. It was also shoot outdoors which really made it different from the previous shoots which were held in the LivingRoom Photography Studios. It was nice to experience this shoot with people I’ve worked with and new additions to the team.
The Cast:
First up, is a picture featuring Nikki as Haruhi. It was an interesting shot since we had just posed them in a group shot but I just suddenly decided to get a close up shot. It turned out well though.
Yuu and Alex are really adorable in this pic as the posed as Tsuruyu and Mikuru. I wasn’t so familiar with the character of Tsuruya but I knew I could trust Yuu‘s knowledge of the character. Of course I did some after-shoot research to further hone my concept of who “Tsuruyu” was. I think the title “BFFs From the Present and the Future” explains their relationship pretty well. Hehe.

SYNOPSIS:
“Takakura Sou (Oguri Shun) witnessed his father’s murder at a young age. Pledging to catch the killer, he grows up to become an elite cop in New York City, where the criminal lives. His character is cool-headed and disciplined, yet adapts well. Because of major drug dealings, he gets sent to Tokyo to conduct a joint investigation with the Japanese police. There, he gets teamed up with, Kudo Maruo (Mizushima Hiro), a detective from a special investigative division. Kudo is a hot-blooded fighting expert due to his earlier days as a delinquent, but he makes a strong impression with his stylish appearance and is always interested in going on group dates. His personality, interests, and investigation methods are completely mismatched with Takakura’s, but the two somehow work together to crack the case they’ve been given.”
Taken from DramaWiki.
I haven’t been so in love with a drama for a looooong while! Coincidentally, the first J-drama that I really paid attention to also featured the two main actors, Oguri Shun and Mizashima Hiro. It was Hana Kimi. I had enjoyed that series no matter how it deviated from the manga. Randomly, I got used to calling both actors by their characters’ name from Hana Kimi, Sano and Nanba.
Tokyo Dogs runs for about 45 mins and has 10 episodes.

Sou and Marou's partnership didn't exactly start with a simple handshake.

Just some photos of what we had to take of for the past two weeks of our photography class.
Last week, March 17, we were told to bring something to shoot. We are finally taking up studio lights and I love it! I brought one of the random lolita hats my roommate bought at a con last year.
I must admit that after I edited my shots a bit more I can say that I like the edits more which kinda frustrates me. I want to be able to take pictures with as little editing as possible. Though I’m proud to say I only adjusted sharpness, curves and levels. Nothing else. I’ll get better once I understand these more.

I have to admit. My school is cool.
So cool that even the occasional headaches I come by are worth it. Haha. But seriously, one thing about my school that I admire is that it’s always active in terms of exhibits and projects headed by or centered on the students. The Fashion Department’s Project Runway is a good example of this.
As far as I know, this is for their finals in thei subject Design Critique 2. There are different batches each week and each week they are given challenges. This week the challenge was “Straw”.
Without further ado, with a Canon 450D and switching between the kit lens and a 100mm, I present do you some of my pics from the runway. :]

I’m still confused with how to use the AV mode properly. I did try it at first by the suggestion of Ryan and Charles, but in the end I found manual easier. I don’t know. I’m weird that way! Haha. But I think I can get more familiar with it in time. I might do this again next week. It’s really good practice! Hehe.
I switched to the kit lens when I took shots of the designers with their models. c:
